Ed Varney has had a long interest in history, the outdoors and exploration, which has led to his membership in the American Polar Society. He has twenty-three years in community banking and is currently employed with Damariscotta Bank & Trust Company as Vice President & Business Development Officer.
Strongly committed to community service, he is a twenty-year member of Belfast Rotary club, and has served the organization in a variety of positions, including treasurer for 5 years.
Ed is also very active with the Waldo County chapter of Habitat for Humanity and the local YMCA. He enjoys cabinet making, hiking, and both ice & open-water fishing. Having raised three successful sons, he resides with his wife, Karen in Northport, Maine.
